Ordering & Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and PayPal. Payment is taken securely at checkout.
Can I order from outside the UK?
Yes. We ship to the UK and across the European Union. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout.
Can I cancel or change my order?
If you need to cancel or amend an order, please email us at hello@akoyapublishing.com as soon as possible. Orders are dispatched quickly (often the same day), so we can't guarantee changes once an order has been processed — but we'll do our best.
Do I need an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. Creating an account makes it easier to track orders and reorder in future, but it's not required.

Where do you ship to?
We ship across the United Kingdom and to all European Union countries.
How much does shipping cost?
United Kingdom
- Standard — £3.25
- Standard Tracked — £4.50
- Express Tracked — £6.50
- Free delivery on UK orders over £30
European Union
- International Standard — £8.95
- International Tracked — £13.95 (3–5 business days)
How long does delivery take?
UK:
- Standard — 2–3 working days
- Standard Tracked — 24–48 hours
- Express Tracked — next working day if ordered before 4pm Monday to Friday
EU: International Tracked arrives within 3–5 business days. International Standard typically takes longer and is untracked.
Orders are dispatched the same working day if placed before 4pm Monday to Friday. Orders placed after 4pm or at weekends are dispatched the next working day.
My order hasn't arrived — what should I do?
If your order hasn't arrived within the expected delivery window, please email hello@akoyapublishing.com with your order number and we'll look into it. For tracked services, we can share the tracking details so you can follow your parcel's progress.
Returns & Refunds
What's your returns policy?
We accept returns within 14 days of delivery for damaged or incorrect items. Please email hello@akoyapublishing.com with your order number and details of the issue, and we'll arrange a return, refund, or replacement.
My book arrived damaged — what now?
We're sorry to hear that. Please email hello@akoyapublishing.com within 14 days of receiving your order, including your order number and a photograph of the damage. We'll arrange a replacement or refund.
I received the wrong book — what should I do?
Apologies for the mix-up. Email hello@akoyapublishing.com within 14 days with your order number and we'll sort it out straight away.
Digital Purchases
What if my purchase includes an eBook or audiobook?
Your eBook or audiobook is delivered through the Glassboxx app, which works on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS — and there's also a browser version if you'd rather read or listen on your laptop.
Here's how to access your purchase:
- Download the Glassboxx app from the App Store, or Google Play. Windows and macOS versions are also available.
- Log in using the email address you used to make your purchase. If you don't have a Glassboxx account, you can register with the same email.
- Your eBook or audiobook should appear in the app, ready to read or listen to. Occasionally this can take a few minutes to sync.
If you've purchased from us before, your new title will appear alongside your existing library in the Glassboxx app.
Prefer to read in a browser? Go to reader.glassboxx.com and log in with the email address you used at checkout.

Can I get a refund on a digital purchase?
Due to the nature of digital products, we're generally unable to offer refunds on eBooks or audiobooks once they've been delivered. If you've had a technical problem accessing your purchase, please get in touch and we'll do our best to resolve it.

What kind of books do you publish?
Akoya Publishing is an independent literary press based in London. We publish translated literary fiction and non-fiction from an international roster of authors and translators, with a focus on writing that deserves a wider readership in English.
Do you accept manuscript submissions?
We're currently closed to submissions. We'll announce on our website and newsletter if and when this changes — sign up below to be the first to know.
How can I stock Akoya books in my bookshop?
Trade orders are handled by our distributor, Turnaround. Please email orders@turnaround-uk.com to place a trade order or set up an account.
Do you offer review copies to press or bloggers?
For review copy requests, press enquiries, or interview requests, please email publicity@akoyapublishing.com.

How do I subscribe to your newsletter?
You can sign up at the bottom of any page on akoyapublishing.com. We send occasional updates about new titles, events, and recommended reading — never more than you'd want, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
How do I unsubscribe?
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you'll be removed immediately. If you have any trouble, email hello@akoyapublishing.com.
